This guide covers the geology of the self-guided trail system through the cave. All of the stops are marked in the cave and are tied to photos in the guide. The book is written for all visitors interested in the geology of the area, how the cave was formed and how all of the fantastic decorations were created.

This book was produced by the Carlsbad Caverns and Guadalupe Mountain Association. A portion of the profits go directly to Carlsbad Caverns National Park to support research and education activities.

History Channel - Journey to the Center of the World: Sacred Cave of the Maya

In August, 2006, I was part of a team to explore the bottom of Naj Tunich Cave, one of the most important Mayan ceremonial sites in Central America. We were investigating whether or not the Maya had explored beyond a deep pit more than a mile into the cave. The resulting exploration, discovery, and rescue is fully documented in this feature.
