What Equipment Do I need?

At a minimum you will need:

  • Helmet with chinstrap
  • Three independent sources of light; at least one should mount on your helmet
  • Spare batteries and lightbulbs
  • Good non-marking boots with good tread
  • Cave pack to carry spare gear

Other items you will likely need:

  • Knee and elbow pads
  • Food
  • Water
  • Rugged, grubby clothing

Clothing

Where Can I Buy Gear?

Some caving gear, you can purchase at a surplus store, local camping store, or any large retailer with a good outdoor department. For caving and climbing gear, you will likely need to look at one of several specialized retailers. I have provided a list of some of those that have an online presence.
